Fair Usage Policy
Ensuring a quality experience for all customers
Last Updated: 22 June 2026
1. Introduction
This Fair Usage Policy ("FUP") applies to all Rebel Telecom Limited mobile plans and is designed to ensure that all our customers can enjoy a reliable and consistent service. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
2. What Is Fair Usage?
"Fair usage" means using our services as a reasonable individual would for personal, non-commercial use. Our plans are designed for use in a mobile handset for regular consumer activities such as browsing, streaming, messaging, and making calls.
3. UK Calls and Texts
All Rebel Telecom plans include unlimited UK standard calls and texts. These unlimited UK standard calls and texts are subject to the following fair usage guidelines and thresholds:
- Calls and texts must be for personal, non-commercial use
- Calls and texts must not be used for telemarketing, auto-dialling, or bulk messaging
- Calls must not be used to generate artificially inflated traffic
- We consider usage above 3,000 minutes or 2,000 SMS per month to be outside normal personal use and may contact you to discuss
- "Texts" means standard UK SMS messages only. Picture and multimedia messages (MMS) are not included in your unlimited allowance and are charged at our standard rate (see our Price Guide)
4. Mobile Data
Each Rebel Telecom plan includes a specific monthly data allowance. Once your allowance is used, your data service will be restricted until your next billing cycle. Rebel Telecom charges for out-of-bundle data.
| PlanMonthly Data Allowance | |
| Starter | 1 GB |
| Lite | 5 GB |
| Essential | 15 GB |
| Plus | 50 GB |
| Unlimited | Unlimited |
Data must not be used for peer-to-peer file sharing, running servers, or providing internet access to other devices on a commercial basis (tethering for personal use is permitted within your data allowance).
5. Roaming
Roaming is not currently included with Rebel Telecom plans and is disabled by default. Our services are designed for use within the UK. If you need to use your phone abroad, please contact us before travelling.
Accidental roaming near borders or during travel may still occur depending on network coverage. If this happens, standard out-of-plan charges may apply unless roaming is disabled on your device.
We may contact you if usage patterns suggest your SIM is being predominantly used outside the UK.
6. What Happens If You Exceed Fair Usage
If we identify usage that is outside our fair usage guidelines, we will:
- Contact you to discuss your usage pattern
- Give you an opportunity to adjust your usage or move to a more suitable plan
- If excessive usage continues, we may restrict specific services (e.g., reduce data speeds, limit outgoing calls/texts)
- In extreme cases, we may suspend or terminate your service in accordance with our Terms of Service
Sustained excessive usage over multiple billing cycles may indicate non-personal use and may result in review of your service.
Typical Fair Usage Examples
✔ Watching video streaming daily
✔ Using social media and messaging apps
✔ Occasional hotspot use for personal devices
✖ Running a public WiFi hotspot
✖ Automated bulk messaging
✖ Continuous high-volume streaming as a shared service
✖ Using SIM in a router for household broadband replacement
Restrictions may include reducing mobile data speeds, temporarily limiting outgoing calls or texts, or applying usage caps.
We will always apply the least restrictive measure necessary.
We will always contact you before taking any restrictive action and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond.
7. Network Management
We may manage network traffic during times of congestion to maintain service quality for all users. This is separate from fair usage enforcement and is applied automatically to ensure fair access.”
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cancel your service without penalty. This Fair Usage Policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
